Privacy Policy — SOS Offline: Emergency Toolkit
Last updated: August 21, 2026
SOS Offline: Emergency Toolkit ("the app") is an offline-first emergency and
survival utility. This policy explains what information the app accesses, how it
is stored, and what we do not do with your data.
Local-only emergency data
The app stores the following information only on your device:
- Emergency profile (name, blood group, allergies, medical notes).
- Emergency contacts you add manually or pick from your address book.
- Saved waypoints and location labels.
- App settings (theme, haptics, units, and similar preferences).
This data is not uploaded to our servers. It leaves your device only when
you choose to share it (for example by copying an emergency
message, showing a QR code, or using your phone's normal share sheet).
Device permissions
The app may request the following permissions to provide core features:
- Location — shows GPS coordinates on the GPS and SOS
screens, saves waypoints, and includes coordinates in optional emergency
messages. Location is read from your device and is not sent to us.
- Camera — used only to control the device flash for the
flashlight and SOS flash signal. No photos or videos are captured or stored.
- Contacts — used only if you choose to pick an emergency
contact from your address book. The app does not read your contacts without
this permission and your explicit action.
- Vibration — used for haptic feedback on SOS and tool actions.
Offline operation
Core emergency tools (SOS patterns, flashlight, compass, Morse code, saved
waypoints, emergency profile, and QR generation) work without an internet
connection. The app does not require an account.
Deleting your data
You can permanently delete all locally stored profile, contacts, waypoints,
and settings from Settings → Delete all local data inside the app.
Uninstalling the app also removes all local data from your device.
Third-party services
The app uses the following third-party services, each governed by its own
privacy policy:
- Google AdMob — displays banner ads on non-emergency screens
(Home, Tools, Locations) and may collect advertising identifiers and usage
data to serve and measure ads. Ads are not shown on active SOS, QR, message,
or profile screens. See
Google's Privacy Policy.
- Google Firebase — the app includes the Firebase SDK for
mobile app services. Firebase may collect limited device and app usage data
as described in
Firebase's Privacy and Security page.
What the app does not do
- No account creation or sign-in required.
- No automatic calls, texts, or messages to emergency services or contacts.
- No selling or sharing of your emergency profile, contacts, or waypoints.
- No cloud backup of your personal emergency information by us.
Children's privacy
The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect
personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the update will be posted on this page with a revised
"Last updated" date.
